He is survived by: his wife Brenda Cahill Mayes; his sons, Thomas "Joe" Mayes (Penny) of Henry and Jeff Mayes (Tina Bowman) of Bassett; his grandchildren, Brittany Mayes (Jared Smith) of Fieldale and Nicholas Mayes of Bassett; his great grandchildren, Oakley and Dayton Smith; and his sister Gloria Gabbard of Frankfort, KY. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
