He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie Jack Prater, Sr. and Joanne Lemons Prater. He is survived by: his wife Vicki W. Prater; his daughters, Jennifer P. Rumley (Eddie) and Melissa P. Rumley (Brandon); his grandchildren, Cierra, Makayla, Samara, Kamaya, Brandon, Jr. and Harden; and his siblings, Billie Jack Prater, Jr., Joe Prater, Ernest Prater and Deborah Trent. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
