It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Gilmer Clifton of Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on October 4, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Evans Clifton and Lillie Morrison Clifton; and his siblings, Carlis Clifton, Lilbern Clifton, Lucy Lawson and Judy Dalton.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Woehlke Clifton; his sons, Gregory Clifton (Kimberly) and Mark A. Clifton, Sr. (Meifei Liu); his grandchildren, Addison Clifton, Mark A. Clifton, Jr. and Kristen Clifton Anderson (Seth); and his siblings, Gene Clifton, Kenneth Clifton, Danny Clifton and Gertrude Pendleton. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
