He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James Cassell and Nannie Mae Craig Cassell; his daughter Ava Ann McAdams; his grandchildren, Robbie Lee Jones, Anna Marie Jones and Alissa Belcher; and his siblings, Bill Cassell, Curtis Cassell, Carl Cassell, Larry Cassell, James Cassell and Debbie Shorter.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria Lurenda Lawless Cassell; his children, Sammie Cassell, Jr. (Diana) of Stokesdale, NC, Lurenda Loraine Williams (John Wayne) of Fieldale, VA, Michelyn Marie Cassady of Bassett, VA and Kelly Junior Cassell of Bassett; and his siblings, Chester Cassell (Kaye) of Bassett, VA, Lonnie Cassell (Linda) of Bassett, VA, Dorothy Clifton of Bassett, VA, Judy Holloway of Rocky Mount, VA and Linda Thomas (Don).
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the County Line Church of God of Prophecy (2900 County Line Rd, Patrick Springs, VA 24133).
