Hairston, Sr. of Washington and Mattie Mitchell Hairston; his wife Lillie Mae Hairston; his daughters, Conchita Hairston, Lillie Madrew Hicks and Virginia Ann Hairston; and his siblings, Elsie Reid, Lois, Joyce, Hurbert Hairston, Booker Hairston, Jr., Waverly Hairston and Curtis Hairston.
He is survived by: his children, James Baker (Peggy) of Greensboro, NC, Cephis Hairston (Erika) of Roanoke, VA, Robert Hairston, Jr. of Bassett, VA, Rodney Hairston (Sarah) of Radford, VA, Odean Shelton (Ben) of Cascade, VA, Georgia Smith (Lee) of Roanoke, VA, Vivian Hairston of Bassett, VA, Diane Hairston of Bassett, VA and Mattie Hairston of Fieldale, VA; and his siblings, Vance Joseph Hairston, Sr. of Martinsville and Inez Woods of Bassett. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
