It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Carlton Brickey of Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph C. Brickey and Ethel Mae Brickey; and his siblings, Cathy Harman, Ruthie Stephenson, Ralph Brickey, Horace Brickey, Ronnie Brickey, Charlie Brickey and Roy Brickey.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Brickey; his daughters, Karen B. Easter and Sharon B. Lawson (Darryl); his grandchildren, Melissa Easter Calfee (Jeremiah), Michelle Easter, Ricky Lawson and Ashley Capps (Brandon); his great grandchildren, Sage Easter Calfee, Colton Calfee, Kadence Easter, Knoxley Calfee, Kinder Easter, Benelli Capps and Elowen Capps; and his sisters, Carol Grimes and Connie Brickey. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Roselawn Burial Park (103 Clearview Dr, Martinsville, VA 24112).
