It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Newsome of Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on November 15, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Newsome and Hazel Brown Newsome; his wife Peggy Little Newsome; his son Melvin Harold Newsome; and his siblings, Carl (Newsome), Edward Newsome, Floyd Newsome and Dorothy "Dot" N. Bailey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda N. Carter of Collinsville, Linda K. Newsome of Collinsville, Sherryl N. Anderson (Jimmy) of Collinsville and Melody N. Oliver (Keith) of Collinsville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
