He was predeceased by: his mother Melissa Page Cassell; his daughter Sadie Lou Paige Cassell; his grandmother Joy Hale; and his uncle Randy Cassell. He is survived by: his children, William Cassell, Logan Wyatt, Bryson Custin, Colton Custin and Jonathan Cassell, Jr.; his sisters, Amy Harris of Critz and Stacey Biggs of Critz, Virginia; his close friend Ashley Wyatt; his aunt Michelle McGrady; his uncle Mike Cassell (Crystal); his nieces, Annabel Harris and Emily Harris; and his friends, Adam Daniels and Landon Meeks.
