James Setliff Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 9, 2025, at the age of 72, James Setliff of Bassett, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Buster Newman and Gladys Sarah Setliff; his brother Richard Setliff; and his granddaughter Amanda Wood. He is survived by: his daughter Wendy Marie Tilley; his grandchildren, Briana Dawn Setliff and Robert Devin Wood (Kassie); his great grandchild Raelynn Marie Wood; and his brothers, Freddie Setliff of Patrick County and Mark Martin of Roanoke, Virginia. He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Hope Church of the Brethren (2007 New Hope Church Rd, Stuart, VA 24171).
