She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Lewis and Litha Brackens Lewis; her husband Robert Lee Lakey; her children, Harold Junior Lakey and Mary Ann Goss; and her sister Virginia LeFevers.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Lee Lakey (Diane) of Pounding Mill, VA, Bobby Gene Lakey (Minnie) of Cliffield, VA, Richard Allen Lakey (Carolyn) of Todd, NC, Jackie Dean Lakey, Virginia Ruth Ray of Asheboro, NC and Barbara Lynn Cooper of Clearwater, FL; her siblings, Mattie Mae LeFevers of Creston, NC and Marvin Lewis of Todd, NC.; her close friend Peggy Plaster; her great grandchildren, Charles Logan Plaster and Madison Brooke McGlothlin; her granddaughter Anita Plaster (Chuck); and also Judy O'Quinn. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends.
