He is survived by: his wife Fannie Marie Haislip Smith; his daughters, Tasha Sherie Hairston and Mercedes Danielle Smith; his grandchildren, Tahjir Malik Hairston, DaNiyah Nevaeh Hairston, Taylin Monroe Hairston and Reagan Chance Hairston; his siblings, Brenda Fitzgerald, Annie Loper, Sarah Martin (Fred), Eunice Carter, Kay Page, Fran Preston, Lisa Smith, Garry Smith (Joyce), Dwight Smith, Elmer Smith (Doris), Phil Smith (Ruth) and Fred Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Olinda "Blondie" Smith, Janice Walker, Betty Haislip Goins, Haywood Haislip (Rose) and Jason Haislip (Felicia). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
