He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gertrude Carter Brown and Onza Brown, Sr.; his grandson Anijhae Brown; his son-in-law Elder William Exhem; his siblings, Lorraine Fontaine, Callie Totten, Barbara Webb and Samuel Coy "Skinny" Brown; his wife Tossie Tarpley Brown; his children, Portia Exhem, Dennis Brown (Angela), Lynwood Brown and Overseer B. Stephon Brown; his grandchildren, Herbert Watlington (Peggy), NeKeisha "Nikkie" Walton, Brandi Ford (Recardo), Kendra Walton, Dennis Copeland (Vanessa), Shari Wright (Larry), Jamaar Brown, Taymisha Brown, Sara Brown, Marquita Brown, Stephanie Brown and Raven Brown; his sister Carolyn Tarpley (Franklin); his brother-in-law Jessie Fontaine; and his close friends, Johnny Dean, John Carter and Joe Lewis Wilson. He was also cherished by 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
