She is survived by: her husband Larry Mebane; her children, Jeanette Preston of Roanoke, VA, Rochelle McKenzie (Marvin) of Chatham, VA, Sherman Payne of Martinsville, VA, Christopher Payne (Margaret) of Roanoke, VA and Mark Payne of Memphis, TN; her stepdaughters, Laressa Woods (Preston) of Richmond, VA and Jackie McKenzie; her siblings, Loretta Callands of Winston Salem, NC, Helen Coles (MacArthur) of Keeling, VA, Shirley Woods of Danville, VA and Franklin Dickerson (Linda) of Axton, VA; and her brothers-in-law, Leon Mebane of Alabama and Kenneth Mebane of Graham, NC. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren.
