He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonza Robert Perkins (Lonnie) and Veiola Martin Perkins; and his wife Mary Ellen Perkins. He is survived by: his sisters, Emma Scales of Eden, NC and Sandra (Kirkwood Cabiness); his children, Vanessa Perkins of Axton, VA, Garrett "Bro" Perkins of Axton, VA, Kathy Threlkeld (Constantin Nelson), Floretta "Dee" (James Paige), Jody (Latanja Perkins) and Ticita "Poo" (James Kavanagh); his grandchildren, Jawan Perkins, Daquan Perkins, Leilani Kavanagh, James Kavanagh IV, Alexandria Price and Dant'e Price; his great grandchildren, Devontae, Juh'Nahzae, Jy'Myre, Khloe, Jameson, Dior'e and Zion; and his godchild Delroy Williams.
Viewing was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Perry-Spencer Funeral Home (511 Henry St, Eden, NC 27288). Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gospel Light Holiness Church (85 Gospel Light Church Rd, Axton, VA 24054). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
