She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred C. Matherly Sr. and Emma Haley Dillard; her husband Thomas E. Huffman; and her brother Russell Matherly. She is survived by: her children, Mary Smith (Adam) and Keith Matherly; her siblings, Fred C. Matherly Jr. (Penny), Donald Matherly and Frieda Robertson (Richard); and her grandchildren, Stephanie Carter, Jackson Carter, Thomas Matherly and Chad Smith.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Swicegood Funeral Home (564 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
