She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Jackson and Nellie Helen Rotenizer Carter; her husband Gilmer Glendye Vaughn; and her siblings, Homer Carter (Everette), Lois Carter (Ruth) and Creed Semones (Alene Fern Smith).
She is survived by: her brother Carson Carter (Ruth); her close friends, Lisha Reynolds, Jessica Love and Effie Thompson; and her siblings-in-law, Bob Vaughn, Dean Vaughn, Mavis Vaughn, Virginia Vaughn, Juanita Vaughn and Edna Vaughn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel (1035 N Main St, Hillsville, VA 24343). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
