With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Dickerson Sr. of Atlantic, Virginia, who passed away on July 11, 2022 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner, Sr. Dickerson and Lillian Dickerson; and his brothers, Winfield "Cigar" Dickerson, Marion Dickerson (Rosy) and Lawrence Dickerson (Pearlie Mae).
He is survived by: his children, John Dickerson, James Dickerson, Jr., Michelle Townsend (Eric) and Jeffrey Dickerson; his brother Gardner Dickerson, Jr.; his grandchildren, Justin Dickerson, Camryn Dickerson, Chase Dickerson, Jalah Townsend, Eric Townsend, II, Grace Townsend, Ashia Austin and Lauren Dickerson; his siblings-in-law, Valestine White, Yvonne Norville, Essie Mae Dickerson, Steve Byrd and Edward White; and his nephews, Arthur "Bunk" Dickerson and Jerry Dickerson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
