He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Twohy Rector; his mother Helen Merrick; his stepfather Judge George B. Merrick; his brother C. Eugene Rector, Jr.; his half-siblings, Priscilla M. White and George B. Merrick, Jr.; and his grandson William Donald Rector (Billy).
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Jones (K. C.), Katherine McLean (Ronnie), Dr. George Rector, Jr. (Elaine), David Merrick Rector (Kim), John Twohy Rector (Wanda), Frederick Rector (Grazyna) and Patricia Preti (Todd). He is also survived by Seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
