He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Gale Welch and Hazel Marie Poston Jones; his stepmother Clara Kimberly Welch; and his siblings, Hobert Welch, Bonnie Marie McCathran and Sandy Ward (Larry).
He is survived by: his spouse Edith Robbins Welch of Atkins, VA; his children, Tracy Dye, Sherman Welch of Raven, Kellee Welch of Atkins, Eddie Hess (Leigh) of Atkins, Scott Hess (Christy) of Atkins and Lee Hess of Atkins; his grandchildren, Emmalyn Dixon, Elizabeth Dixon, Cody Perdue, LaToya Rose, Cody Ridge and Mandy Ridge; his great grandchildren, Bethany Hess, Cali Perdue, Waylon Pearcey and Malachi Rose; his sister Terri Welch of Atkins; and his close friend Pastor Mike Welch. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
