He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilba P. Gilman and Emily A. Hope Gilman Stanley. He is survived by: his wife Frances R Ketner "Becky" Gilman; his children, Mary Frances Gilman, Becky Ann Gilman Davis (Dwayne) and Howard Gilman (Michelle); his grandchildren, Braelyn Phipps (Josh), Gilman Robinson (Emily), Camille Clifton (Dan), Marielle Robinson of Victoria Robinson, I. R, Forrest Robinmson, Ben Gilman, Ema Gilman and Luc Gilman; his great grandchildren, Byron Phipps, Adeline Robinson and Birdie Clifton; and his siblings, W. Pettus Gilman and Emily Clay Evelyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Montpelier VA.
