It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph George Scileppi of Ashland, Virginia, who passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy R. Scileppi; his parents, Edward Scileppi and Leonarda Scileppi (Valenti); his father-in-law Walter P. Edwards, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Laura A. Custalow and Walter T. Edwards, Sr. (Joe).

He is survived by: his daughters, Ann J. Downing and Virginia L. Chenault (Roy); his granddaughters, Karrie L. Elswick (Nathan), Katherine L. Downing and Emily K. Chenault; his great grandchild Madilyn R. Elswick; and his mother-in-law Virginia E. Christiansen.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel (412 S Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ashland Church of God (407 Myrtle St, Ashland, VA 23005). A burial was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery (10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002).
