He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Saunders and Mabel King Saunders; and his siblings, Doonie, Foots, Charlie, Ben and Goldie.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Binns of B's Burkeville Lodge; his daughters, Debbie and Connie (Walter); his grandchildren, Sarah (David), Anna (Kason), Connor, Kyle "Psi" and Brixten; and his great grandchild Audrey Marie.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home (412 S Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Village Presbyterian Church, 110 N. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23223, or to the VAWB, P.O. Box 116, Burkeville, VA 23922.
