He was predeceased by: his father Homer F. Cole; his brother Alan H. Cole; his son-in-law J. Russell Laib; and his great grandchildren, Sarah and Shaun Steyaert.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia M. Cole; his children, Roger A. Cole (Cheryl) of Sterling, Virginia, Scott C. Cole (Barbara) of Sherwood, Arkansas, Chris E. Cole (Helen) of Ashburn, Virginia, Karen C. Laib of Sterling and Robbie C. Solt (Irvin) of Prescott, Arizona.; his sisters, Patricia C. Brown of Tampa and Nancy C. Davis of Granite Falls; and his siblings-in-law, Robert M. Meith (Diane) of Diamondhead and Nikki Meith Hulm (Peter) of Erschmatt, Switzerland. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
