He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Virginia "Nina" Butler; his daughters, Ella Virginia and Vera Darlene; his sisters, Kathy Rogers, Elizabeth Butler and Susan Butler; his mother Linda Schlekau; and his stepfather Lou Schlekau. He was also cherished by parents, brothers, sister, and extended family all fell in love with.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nicholas A Butler Memorial Fund to be used for the care and education of his daughters Ella and Vera.
