It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Liesbeth Margarete Smith of Ashburn, Virginia, who passed away on March 7, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Albert Freiwald; and her siblings, Heinz, Siegfried, Walter Freiwald, Gerda Braunroth and Edith Koch.
She is survived by: her husband Vincent Moyer Smith; her children, Barbara Bernett (Howard), Evelyn Garrison, Edie Hopkins (Kevin) and James Keith (Barbara); and her foster daughter Ulrike Larkin. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Inova Health Foundation for Inova Loudoun's Nursing Education Program or to a charity of one's choice.
