He is survived by: his children, Barry Nelson Layne (Terri) of Lynchburg, Steven Boyd Layne (Janet) of Amherst and Susan Layne Bryant (Sam) of Amherst; his siblings, Patricia Layne Nash of Amherst and Douglas N. Layne of Monroe; his grandchildren, Danielle (David), Stuart Layne, Kristina (Ryan), Samantha (Jamie), Jonathan (Chanler), Amelia Layne, Mikayla (Parker), Ann-Claire (Robert), Corey and Lauren; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Henry, Adeline, Aubree and Lucas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
