She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian J. "Cox" Lafont and Genevieve Lucille Lafont (Boudreaux) of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.. She is survived by: her husband Dr. James Blackwell of Haymarket, VA; her siblings, Anna Nugent (Bryan) of Natchitoches, LA, Angela LeBlanc (Wayne) of Galliano, LA and Julian Lafont Jr. (Kathy) of Galliano, LA; her children, Joshua Blackwell (Lydia) of Midland, VA, Jonathan Blackwell (Kirsten Cappel) of Fairfax, VA and Elizabeth Baldridge (Richard) of Warrenton, VA.; and her grandchildren, Emerson, Hunter Blackwell, Richard III (Trey) and Genevieve Baldridge.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Battlefield Baptist Church (4361 Lee Hwy, Warrenton, VA 20187). Viewing was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family suggests donations to Battlefield Baptist Church designated for Children's Ministry, Upwards Basketball Program, or Women's Ministries.
