It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lillian Scales of Ararat, Virginia, who passed away on March 8, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Cleveland and Jesse Mae Childress Ayers; and her siblings, Ruby Marshall, Mary Willis, Betty Eaton, Polly France, G. C. Ayers, Gaston Woodrow Ayers and Leonard Ashby Ayers.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Clarence Scales; her daughters, Sandra Hawks Thompson and Glenda Scales Pack (Javier Martinez); her son-in-law Delman Hawks; her grandsons, Brandon Hawks and Christopher Pack; and her great grandchild Gracie Jolynn Pack.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Joe Scales, 415 Willis Gap Road, Ararat, Virginia 24053; to assist with expenses related to his ongoing care.
