With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lennis Shorter (Ararat, Virginia), who passed away on May 3, 2020 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lennis Shorter to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her son Ricky Lane Tatum of Harrison, Tennessee.; her grandson Larry Edwin Tatum, Jr.; and her former husband Robert L Gray Jr.. She is survived by: her former husband Garland Edwin Tatum; her son Larry Edwin Tatum of Collinsville; her granddaughter Bethany Tatum; her daughter-in-law Dinah Hodges Tatum of Harrison, Tennessee; her grandsons, Jeffery Tatum of Fieldale Virginia and Michael Tatum (Kristy) of Ararat, VA; her great grandchildren, Savannah and Samantha Tatum; and her husband Dewey Shorter.
Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at the family homeplace in Ararat, Virginia.
Lennis was an animal lover and ask for donation to the Randolph County SPCA at 300 W. Bailey Street Asheboro, NC. 27203. Also other donations can be made to the American Cancer Fund 7027 Albert Pick Rd, Greensboro, NC 27409.
