She was predeceased by: her parents, Waller Harden "Buster" and Gladys Epperson Smith; her husband Everett Lee Martin; her daughter Melissa Carol Martin; her siblings, Bonnie Smith Culler, Allie Smith Jones and Wendell G. Smith; her brothers-in-law, Alton Jones, Roscoe Epperson and Stuart Martin; and her nephew Jeff Epperson.
She is survived by: her close friend Jake Brewer; her son Anthony Lee; her daughter-in-law Yauna Branner Martin; her grandchildren, Mark Robert Martin, Hannah Carol Martin, Sarah Elizabeth Martin and Everett Samuel Martin; her siblings, Marie S. Epperson and William Harden "Bill" Smith; her siblings-in-law, Claudette Smith, Maxine Smith, Michael Culler, Dennis Martin and Felix Martin (Carol); her nieces and nephews, Sheila S. Brown (Rick), Terry Smith (Tamra), Waller Chadwick "Chad" Smith (Erin), Wendy S. Cartwright (Jeff), Linda J. Newton, Chip Jones and Gary Epperson (Kathy); and her caregivers, Brenda Butner, Tammy Milette, Betty Smith, Tamra Smith, Taylor Smith, Maxine Smith, Claudette Smith, Tammy Puckett, Dorothy Bowman, Sheila Secrest and Jasmine Crowder. She is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Unity Church Cemetery (2874 Unity Church Rd, Ararat, VA 24053).
