It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gracie Evelyn Smart Epperson of Ararat, Virginia, who passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Delmar and Ada Branch Smart; and her siblings, Helen Pack, Willie, Fred, Charlie and Leon Smart.
She is survived by: her husband William L. "Bill" Epperson; her children, Patricia Doiron (David), Cynthia Fitzgerald (Keith), Larry Epperson (Alisha) and Linda Epperson; and her sisters, Lorraine Barker (Dennis) and Betty Jean Stultz (Jerry). She is also survived by six grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
