He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Green "Boots" and Beatrice Hendrick Vass; his wife Brenda Lou Hiatt Vass; and his sister Rosie Cassell. He is survived by: his children, Tina Smith and Timothy; his daughter-in-law April Vass; his granddaughter Jossie Vass; and his siblings, Treshia Crowl, Lester (Joan Vass) and Michael (Lucille Vass). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
