It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Whitney Doss of Appomattox, Virginia, who passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Layfette Doss and Gwendolyn Smoot Doss; and his siblings, Randolph, Bud, Herman, Horace, Aubrey, Harold, Sam, Doug, Gene Doss, Nora Handy, Mable Smith and Peggy Watson.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Sharp Doss; his children, Dale Cumbie (Glenn) of Arizona, Glenda Page (Sammy) of Lynchburg, Marvin Doss (Teresa) of Madison Heights and Judy McFadden (Ricky) of Gladstone; his grandchildren, Brian Cumbie, Travis Cumbie, Jennifer Stults, Starr Harris, Ricky McFadden and Josh McFadden; and his great grandchildren, Jovianna Touey, Autumn Cumbie, Nevaeh Moore, Ryder Lee Stults, Connor Harris, Grayson Harris, Paylin Harris, Graham Harris, Akayla McFadden and Blalyn McFadden.
