We are sad to announce that on June 1, 2023, at the age of 85, Joan Carol Adkins Routt of Appomattox, Virginia, born in Lynchburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David C. Adkins and Ella Elizabeth Robertson Adkins; and her siblings, Freddy Buryl Adkins, David C. Adkins and Ella Mildred Leatherwood.
She is survived by: her spouse Ryland Russell Routt; her daughter Linda Carol Nierman (Heath) of Petersburg; her grandchildren, Timothy Andrew Peak, Ryland David Nierman and Elizabeth McKenzie Nierman; and her sisters, Bobbie Adkins of Evergreen and Sharon Etheridge of Upper Marlboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
