He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda Elaine Shrock; his parents, Phyllis Matlack and Otha Thurman Shrock; his daughter Susanne Prentice; and his siblings, Gale G. Shrock and Phyllis Hysell.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Grishaw (David) of Appomattox, Charlene Pane (Henry "Hank"), Pam Chavis (Kyle) of Farmville and Dale Shrock, Jr. (Amy) of Appomattox; his grandchildren, Jessica Mason (Ed), Tricia Silby, Matt Franklin, Kim Prentice, Les Prentice, Dale "Trey" Shrock, III and Jordan Martin; his great grandchild Hunter Mason (Cassidy); and his caregivers, Antonia "Libby" Robertson, Stacey Graves, Carol Lukeheart, Maddie, Rusty and Bella.
