He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sam Martin, Sr. and Virginia Caroline Cornett Martin; and his siblings, John Sam Martin, Jr., Milton Martin, Julia Gallier and Mary Katherine Mayberry.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy McFadden Martin; his children, R. Keith Martin (Connie) of Appomattox, Deborah "Debbie" Guthrie (Johnny) of Appomattox, Jeffrey Alan "Jeff" Martin (Dani) of Benbrook, TX, Eddie Lynn Martin (Tina) and Darryl Martin (JoEllen); and his grandchildren, Heather Cheatham (Tim), Felicia Mann (Ben), Kristi White (Brandon), Brandy Bryant (Curtis), Justin Johnson, Paul Johnson, Andrea Martin, Staci Gillespie (Don), Stefanie Fike (Steven), Katie Martin and Andrew Martin (Ari). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
