We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2022, Joanne Hurwitz of Annandale, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Paster and Sarah Paster; and her brother Mark Paster. She is survived by: her husband Myron "Mike" Hurwitz; her daughters, Gwen (Steven), Rayna (David) and Lisa (Martin); her grandchildren, Sam Larsen, Evan Larsen, Brianna (Anderson), Sarah, Jacob and Adam Richardson; her great grandchild Helix Michel; her brother Bob Paster (Brana); and her sister-in-law Karen Paster. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“I am so so sad to hear of Joanne's passing. The day she came into our first grade class over 73 years ago is so fresh in my mind. I loved her as a friend as she came in and out of my life for all the years that followed! Of course the one day that remains the most vivid is the day I dragged her to a party in NYC on Dec.13 and she met the man who soon became her husband, you Mike! I am really sorry we did not keep in touch through the years. She was a very special person! Arline Heimlich”
