He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl H. Grooms and Laura Bell Grooms; and his siblings, Evelyn (Sam), Minnie (Tom), Ruth (John), Helen (Vernon), Lucille (Henry), Elhora, Wesley (Janice), Archie, Walter (Janette) and Levi (Fannie).
He is survived by: his great-niece Cheryl Sandidge; and his nephew Ernest H. Haynes. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.
