With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roderick James Schmidt Jr. of Amherst, Virginia, who passed away on July 7, 2020 at the age of 32. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandmother Dee Schmidt; his aunt Bridget Schmidt Shepard; and his great-grandparents, Esty, Joe Swire and Sean Harris.
He is survived by: his mother Helen Comer; his pets, Hemi and Turbo; his father Roderick J Schmidt Sr. (Rose Stark); his sister Jessica Thornton (Bradley); his nephew Harrison Thornton; his grandparents, Mary Swire and Bob Swire; his aunt Eleanor Schmidt; his uncle Steve Swire (Virginia); his cousin Tory Swire; and also Bob Swire.
