He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Allen Gunter Sr. and Margaret Louise Hendricks Gunter; his wife Brenda Sue Gunter; and his brothers, Ronnie Hendricks and Clyde Gunter Jr..
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Gunter (Melissa), James William Gunter Jr., Brandon Gunter and Jason Gunter (Ali); his siblings, Betty Gunter and Wayne Gunter (Lori); his grandchildren, Kaetlyn, Taylor, Mackenzie, Chase and Eli; and his great grandchild Kevin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Whitten Monelison Chapel (3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, VA 24572). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Briarwood Memorial Gardens (1823 S Amherst Hwy, Amherst, VA 24521).
