She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Echols Peters, Jr.; her parents, Joseph Clinton and Annie Thaxton Dinkins; her children, Richard Peters and Sandra P. Cross; and her brother J. H. Clinton Dinkins.

She is survived by: her children, Ryland R. Peters, Sr. (Gladys) of Amherst, Rhonda P. Hillsman (Warren) of Amherst and Wanda W. Slack of Bedford; and her siblings, James D. Dinkins, Charles A. Dinkins (Rhonda) and Janice D. Cofflin of Madison Heights. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
