It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie J. Maddox of Amherst, Virginia, who passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Johnson and Essie Fitzgerald. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Maddox; her sons, Craig Maddox (Stephanie) of Amherst and Brandon Maddox (Casey) of Amherst; her grandchildren, Samantha Maddox Molden (Alex) of Hawaii, Zack Maddox (Madison Schall) of Amherst, Chase Maddox of Amherst and Emily Maddox of Amherst; her great grandchildren, Elijah Maddox, Emmarie Maddox and Allie Molden; her aunt Suzie Johnson of Fishersville; and her cousin Deloris Rogers of Fishersville. She is also survived by her cats and dogs that were her companions.
