He is survived by: his wife Julia Grooms; his son David Grooms, Jr. (LaToya) of Madison Heights; his stepchild Consuela Morgan (Kerry) of Nelson County; his siblings, Ruby Grooms (Henry Sparrow), Wilma Sandidge and Warren Grooms, Sr.; his siblings-in-law, Mallie Allen (Wayne), Margaret Johnson, Inez Haynes, David Johnson and Collie Johnson, Jr.; and his aunts, Ruth Randolph (Howard), Helen Brown and Lindsey Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
