With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alan Hugh Bumgarner (Amherst, Virginia), born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on September 1, 2021 at the age of 63. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alan Hugh Bumgarner to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. William Hugh Bumgarner and Ardie Pless Bumgarner. He is survived by: his wife Terry Bumgarner; his sons, Matthew Ryan Bumgarner and Jacob Alan Bumgarner (Courtney); his grandson Hayden Bumgarner; and his sister Donna Massie (Harold).

The family will receive friends prior to the service for two hours, from 9 to 11 a. m. Social distancing and Covid protocols will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison Heights Baptist Church-Choir Robe Fund, 329 Main St., Madison Heights, 24572 or to the Fishers of Men, 172 Jumping Creek Ln., Rustburg, VA 24588 or to the Miller Home for Girls, 2134 Westerly Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
