She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son Tom; her grandson Cameron; her parents, Willie Fleming and Ethel Fleming; her siblings, Billy Ray and Nell Ray; her spouse Leander Scott; and her grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Stirling, Trey, Tom, Tiffany, Lee and Clay.
While in office she limited the amount of donations that could be contributed to her campaigns because she did not want to be indebted to her contributors.
