He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Jack and Ressie Rone Thaxton; his siblings, Reverend Amy Caldwell, Robert Clay Thaxton, Reverend Roy "Sugar Ray" Thaxton and William Claude Thaxton; his niece Sabrina Kirby; and his father-in-law Levi Jones, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Thaxton; his children, Michael Eugene Thaxton (Khalilah) of Roxboro and Jessica Sherrie Jeffers (Mark) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Miranda Brooks, Veronica Martin of Raleigh, Khaleal Thaxton of Cambridge, England of Roxboro, Michael Khamal Thaxton of Roxboro and Markel Thaxton of Roxboro; his great grandchildren, Prince Joshua Wendell Martin of Goldsboro, Karter Maliq Thaxton of Roxboro and David Brooks Cornagan; his siblings, Hannah Williams of Roxboro, Deacon Marcella Thaxton (Mary Ann) of Yanceyville, Helen Lipscomb of Roxboro, Reverend Roger Thaxton (Christine) of South Boston and Reverend Alonzo Thaxton (Eleanor) of McGhee's Mill; his godson Ronnie "T. J." Featherstone of Halifax, Virginia; and his mother-in-law Dorothy Jones. He is also survived by five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
