Susan Arnold Irby Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 29, 2023, at the age of 73, Susan Arnold Irby of Altavista, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Dan Arnold and Jessie James Robertson Arnold; and her siblings, George Arnold, Frankie Arnold, Jerry Arnold, Dan Arnold, Jackie Arnold, Eva Waters and Ruby Layne.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Irby (Tammie) of Montana and Carol Irby Hodges (Edward) of Hurt; her sister Shirley Layne (Gary) of Lynchburg; and her grandchildren, T. W. Hodges (Hayley), Kristen Hodges (Lorne Kelley) and Jessica Irby. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hurt Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 727, Hurt, VA 24563.
