It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Wayne Cowart Sr. of Altavista, Virginia, who passed away on August 14, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Jesse Cowart and Thelma Wilson Cowart; and his siblings, Jesse, Sr., Earl, Roger Cowart and Marjorie Wooldridge.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Rosser Cowart; his children, Larry Wayne Cowart, Jr. (Ellen) of Rustburg and Michelle Williams (Steven) of Amherst; his stepdaughters, Katharine McCann (Ed) of Altavista, Meredith Stevens (Amanda Schick) of Astoria and N. Y.; his grandchildren, Alyssa Williams, Cameron Cowart (Diana), Colbey Cowart (Leanne), Colin Cowart, Kay Eubank (Chris) and Jack McCann; his great grandchildren, Zeppelin, Logan and Gentry Cowart; his brothers, Leonard (Nancy), Louis (Nancy) and Dennis Cowart (Pam); his siblings-in-law, Nancy Cowart, George Rosser, Kyle Rosser (Tonya) and Becky Thomas; his pet Precious; and his close friends, Heidi and Tippy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
