He is survived by: his wife Susan Oakes West of Winston-Salem, NC; his son Scott West of Boston, MA; his grandsons, Kenneth West and Thomas West of Boston, MA; his brother-in-law Tony Oakes of Lynch Station, VA; his niece Dorinda Scruggs of Hurt, VA; and his nephew John Beverly West of Atlanta, GA.
