He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Ed Gilbert and Christine Stone Gilbert; and his granddaughter Mahogany Davis. He is survived by: his children, Margaret "Chris" Gilbert Hall (Tracy) of Gladys, Vincent C. Gilbert and Marilyn E. Gilbert of Altavista, Virginia; his grandchildren, Desmond, Secelia, Jasmine, Ceanna and Sayvon; his great grandchildren, Noah, Ky'Shawn, Nyla and Kayliana; his sisters, Barbara J. Graves of Gretna and Donna G. Reynolds (Allen) of Hurt, Virginia; and his caregiver Bernice Davis-Gilbert of Altavista, Virginia. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
